Books For 16 Year Olds Girl – What are some good novels for a 16 year old girl?
Hi! I’m a 16 year old girl, and I’m looking for some good books that are appropriate for my age. Do you have any suggestions?
To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill A Mockingbird is a classic novel by Harper Lee. It was published in 1960 and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. The story follows Scout, who is six years old when the book begins, as she grows up in a small town with her brother Jem and their father Atticus Finch.
The plot takes place during the Great Depression era when racial tensions were high due to an influx of African Americans moving into white neighborhoods across America. In this context, we see how Scout learns about racism firsthand through interactions with her friends and neighbors; she also witnesses firsthand how racism can affect people’s lives–and even lead to tragic consequences such as death or imprisonment for someone being unfairly accused of committing crime because they’re black (or any other reason).
The Fault in Our Stars
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance
Themes: Death, Human Relationships, Love and Friendship
Characters: Hazel Grace Lancaster (16 years old), Augustus Waters (17 years old) and Isaac Marion (28 years old).
Plot: Hazel Grace Lancaster meets Augustus Waters at a cancer support group. They fall in love with each other but their relationship ends when he dies from cancer. The book ends with an epilogue which shows how these two characters are doing now that they have parted ways with each other.
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is the true story of a young girl who was forced to go into hiding during World War II. It’s a diary, so it’s written in the style of someone telling you about their life. The book covers her experiences during this time period and what she went through during the Holocaust as well as some of her thoughts on society in general.
It’s an important book because it shows how horrible humans can be when they’re scared or angry at someone else, even if that person doesn’t deserve it at all!
The Hunger Games Series
The Hunger Games series is about a dystopian future where children are forced to fight each other to the death, with only one winning. The protagonist is Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers for the games in order to save her sister from being forced into them.
The books are aimed at older teenagers (13+) because of some violence and disturbing scenes, but if your daughter has read other similar books before then they should be fine for her age group.
This book is great because it’s exciting and fast-paced with plenty of twists and turns along the way!
We Were Liars
The novel We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is a gripping and captivating read. It’s fast-paced, but it also has the ability to make you stop and think about what you’re reading. The author’s writing style is unique, which makes this book stand out from other novels in its genre.
The story follows a family of four: Cadence, Johnny, Mirren and Persephone Sinclair. Each member of the family has their own personality traits that shape how they interact with each other–and with outsiders who visit their private island each summer for vacation purposes only (no one else can come). As readers learn more about Cadence’s past experiences on this island through flashbacks throughout most chapters of this book there are several surprises waiting at every turn!
Harry Potter Series (Books 1-7)
Harry Potter series is a classic and has been loved by many. The story is about Harry Potter, who discovers that he is a wizard and goes to a school for witches and wizards. In this book, you will see how Harry becomes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger (and later Draco Malfoy), while also having to go through trials and tribulations before becoming the hero that we all know him as today. This is a good example of how someone who starts off as an average kid can grow into something much bigger than themselves if they work hard enough for it!
This book also teaches us how to deal with bullies: don’t let them get away with anything!
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Eleanor & Park is a young adult romance novel by Rainbow Rowell, published in 2013. It tells the story of two teenagers who fall in love during a time when they’re both feeling out of place and bullied at school. The book was Rowell’s first for adults, but she has written many others aimed at teens–including Fangirl and Eleanor & Park’s prequel, Attachments.
Eleanor & Park won several awards including the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Fiction (2013) and has been translated into over 30 languages worldwide!
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
In this novel, a teenage girl named Mia has to decide whether to stay with her family or go on with her life. Her whole family was in a car accident, and now she’s in a coma. In order to make the right decision, she goes back through memories of her life as well as flashbacks from other important points in time. This book is great because it takes you through all of these different moments in such detail! It also has some romance in it which makes it even better!
If you’re looking for another book like this one that deals with death but is also very emotional and moving then try The Fault In Our Stars by John Green (it’s my favorite).
Reading is good for you.
Reading is good for you. Seriously.
Reading can help you learn new things, relax, sleep better and feel less stressed. It can also make you more empathetic and creative. You might not know it yet but the number one thing that makes reading so beneficial is that it will open your mind up to all kinds of different perspectives and ideas – which means that if someone tells you something doesn’t apply to them (like “boys shouldn’t read books”) then they’re wrong!
Reading is a great way to escape from the stresses of everyday life. It can also help you to feel better about yourself and make you smarter! If you’re looking for some good books to read, I would highly recommend checking out the ones listed above.
