6 Member Kpop Girl Groups – What are some K-pop groups with 6 members?
While many K-pop acts feature members with a variety of skills, some have a unique focus on one type of member. While having six members in your group may seem like overkill, it actually allows groups to capitalize on different elements and bring new concepts to the table. Here are some popular K-pop groups that feature six members:
2NE1 was a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The group consisted of four members: CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy. The group officially debuted on SBS’ The Music Trend on May 17, 2009 with the song “Lollipop” (released as a digital single in 2008).
2NE1’s first EP To Anyone was released later that year, followed by several successful singles such as “Can’t Nobody”, “Go Away”, “I Don’t Care” and “It Hurts”. Their first full-length album To Anyone was released on March 9th 2010 while their second EP Crush released October 19th 2010 which eventually became their most successful work worldwide reaching number one spot in Japan’s Oricon weekly chart while also charting within top ten positions across many countries around Asia including Taiwan and Thailand.
